Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Play a key part in building Copper’s legal foundations as Copper and the crypto markets enter a period of rapid growth and professionalisation.
• Advise on a variety of legal and commercial queries from the business, manage workflows and provide timely solutions, while managing expectations of the business.
• Help draft, review and update terms and conditions of the business for new and existing product and service offerings. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with clients and counterparties for the provision of SaaS and associated services.
• Contribute to the growing legal team’s development of scalable, global processes, development of forward-looking strategies, standard forms, templates, playbooks and FAQs for the business.
• Grapple with and become an expert in the technological and commercial challenges unique to the rapidly developing crypto markets and recommend innovative solutions in a risk-aware manner.

Your experience, skills and knowledge

The ideal candidate for this role will:

• 1 to 4 years, post-qualified experience
• Be a proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic, who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment.
• Have excellent judgment, attention to detail and be capable of working independently but with the confidence to identify areas where training, supervision or personal development is required.
• Possess a clear appreciation of the complexities inherent in regulated markets, preferably with a background in financial services.
• Be keen to work collaboratively across multiple functions, including Product, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, IT and Security. A team player who is adaptable and willing to pitch in to support colleagues and the growth of the business.
• Have the ability to digest complex matters and to communicate clearly, concisely and in a timely fashion.
• Balance the need for innovation and the achievement of commercial goals with the need for control and consistent adherence to governance.
• Have strong communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships quickly. Resilience, good humour, self-awareness and ability to laugh through challenges.
